John A. Logan College students and employees have been busy the last few weeks collecting dozens of bags of nonperishable foods. Adrienne Barkley Giffin, director of student services and cultural events at the College, said 14 selected Logan students, one employee on disability and three GED students would receive the food giveaway. She said as many as 12 different student organizations assisted in the collection, as well as LOSA (Logan Operational Staff Association), which made the Thanksgiving collection of canned goods its service project.

The Practical Nursing Club collected the most food and most variety of food. The Black Students Association was selected as having the best decorated box. Each club receives a $50 cash award.
