Logan to Hold AutumnFest Arts & Crafts Show November 14 and 15

John A. Logan College invites shoppers and craft-lovers to attend the 34th annual AutumnFest Arts & Crafts Show at its Carterville campus on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15. Show hours on Saturday run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Over 100 booths filled with handcrafted gift items will be set up in the College’s gymnasium, activities lounge, cafeteria, and conference center.

“It’s a wonderful show, and we have about 6,000 people attend each year,” said Adrienne Barkley Giffin, director of student activities and cultural events at Logan. “The exhibitors will be selling a wide variety of crafts, jewelry, home décor accessories, and specialty foods. It’s a great place to do some holiday shopping.”

Phi Theta Kappa, the College’s honor society, is sponsoring a play area for children with face painting and arts and crafts. There will also be a coat and gift check area where people can leave their coats and bags while shopping.

“We want to make the shopping as convenient for people as possible,” Giffin said. “Our cafeteria will be open during the entire show so people can eat lunch here. Also, the Logan bookstore will be open on Saturday for people who are interested in buying sweatshirts or other Logan merchandise.”

Giffin says that people attending this year’s show will have the opportunity to get flu and pneumonia vaccines. Representatives from VNA-TIP will be on hand to administer the vaccines on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. The flu vaccines cost $25 and the pneumonia vaccines cost $45.
