Lady Vols Place 11th at USI Screaming Eagles Classic

After finishing first in its last outing, the John A. Logan College women’s golf team was unable to sustain the momentum. The Lady Vols shot a 36-hole team score of 710 (369-341) to finish 11th out of 11 teams at the USI Screaming Eagles Classic held at Cambridge Golf Club in Evansville, In., on September 20-21. The University of Indianapolis won the event with a team score of 623 (309-314).

Pinckneyville product Lindsay Kellerman shot the low round for Logan and placed 37th overall with a 169 (85-84). Sophomore Mallory Gentry of Metropolis was 39th with a 171 (88-83). Jenny Bernhardt, a sophomore from Murphysboro, shaved 16 strokes off her score on day two of competition and finished tied for 52nd with a 180 (98-82). Kasey McCammack from Hillsboro shot a 190 (98-92) for the Lady Vols to take 61st, and Liz Gentry of Carterville posted a 202 (102-100), good for 64th place. Logan’s Talia Campbell from Mt. Vernon competed as an individual and tied for 58th with a 187 (90-97).

The Lady Vols will next be in action at the Millikin Fall Classic on September 26-27.
